Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Good. 1937 reprint, hardcover in red cloth covered boards. Publisher blind stamp on back board. Spine has a small forward lean, top edge dyed red, tips still fairly sharp. Foxing on page block. Original dj is clipped but price still present, moderately chipped, but displays well in new mylar. This is a collection of 15 priceless stories in which the role of the hero is shared by true sportsmen and gallant horses. Stories of men who were prepared to back their own judgement with real money; of horses which gave their last ounce to thrust their head first past the winning post; of men who were good losers and modest winners and horses which learned and responded to the affection and care lavished upon them. These tales of the hunting field and the race course are tremendously dramatic.
