"This represents a contrivance in great use for the purpose of clearing cotton from the seeds. By striking, with a small mallet, the catgut string that is attached to the piece of wo…od which the man holds in his left hand, and to which is affixed a line depending from an elastic piece of bamboo fastened to his back, he loosens the cotton, and thus, by means of the jarring motion, causes the seeds, or any extraneous substances, to be shaken out of it." Replete with a variety of photographs, and portraits of both male, and female models as well as photographs depicting a large assortment of brushes… for personal grooming and home use; all accompanied with an extensive price-list. Types of brushes include those meant for: housekeeping, cleaning, hair, teeth, bathroom et al. Contains two unused order forms. No detectable flaws, contents bright, clean, and unmarked; near fine. This catalogue was printed by the Fuller Brush Company exclusively for the Canadian market (originally published in the same format and name out of Great Bend, Kan. by the same firm). At time of cataloguing we note that there are no instances of this title housed amongst any Canadian institutional holdings.

Flattened vertical crease throughout, mild dust-soiling to wraps, else a nice example. Stamp to the front wrap reads "Patented June 15th, 1895," which is the only evidence of an approximate print…ing date. An advertising pamphlet for this innovative "steam blast circular gas producer." The first two pages describe the machine and its benefits, while the following pages describe other furnaces and industrial appliances produced by the company, followed by a long list of firms who have done business with the manufacturer in the previous decade. Most of these are in "Steel Valley," but some are in Canada or further south in coal country. This pamphlet not separately listed in OCLC.

Our favourite is how 'To Clean Fur of Domestic Animals' (pages 46-47): 'Place small nozzle on end of hose and run lightly up the animal's coat. Dogs become very fond of having their coats cleaned by Electrolux . This also removes all vermin'. As this item is surely only for the purist and completist, we include a copy of 'An Introduction to Your New Electrolux Model: Model 89 Cleaner Instruction Book' (oblong octavo, 24 pages plus card covers with a front cover cut-out; undated, but looks 1960s).
