Aggiungi al carrelloSIGNED BY THE AUTHOR. 1998 twentieth printing of the 35th anniversary edition (per publisher's number line upon copyright page). [10], 323 pages. Hardcover: H 21cm x L 14cm. Dust jacket lightly rubbed with a few scuffs at edges; shallow chip with 1.5cm closed tear at rear panel's center bottom; two negligibly small losses at front panel's bottom edge; small slender loss at upper rear flap fold with two nicks at front flap's lower fold; front flap is not price-clipped; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Black boards with gilt stamping to spine; small shallow loss at rear board's bottom edge. Deckle fore-edge; small light stain at text block's bottom edge with some leaves shallowly and faintly affected at their margins. Past owner's ink note "1996" at half-title's upper right accompanied by firmly and boldly written two-line blue ink inscription "Best wishes, | Harper Lee" at center; interior pages are otherwise clean. Binding still retains some crispness. Else a very good copy in a very good dust jacket. Long regarded as a highpoint in American literature and beloved by generations of readers not just in the United States but worldwide, TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD won the 1961 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction just after its 1960 publication, the latter event being what this particular edition commemorates. While author Harper Lee was always quite private she was never a recluse as that reputation was promulgated by the remoteness of her rural hometown of Monroeville, Alabama which afforded protection from an incessant barrage of autograph seekers that would mark her public appearances in New York and elsewhere. But, of course, signed copy demand never waned and HarperCollins issued this 35th anniversary edition (followed by a 40th edition too) with publisher-arranged author signings in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa as well as Lee's own preferred many-year-running annual Christmas signing event at Montgomery's Capitol Book & News. Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Very Good. First Russian book edition (it first appeared in Russia in two issues of the journal *Inostrannaia literatura* in 1963). Text in Russian. Translated into Russian by N. Gal and R. Oblonskaia. Octavo. Quarter black cloth printed in white and illustrated paper over boards. Attractive bookplate in Cyrillic of A.P. Chubova on the front pastedown, owner's names in Cyrillic on both sides of the first leaf, binding a little cocked and the spine lettering is a little rubbed, modest edgewear on the edges of the paper, overall a nice, very good copy. A classic novel about adolescence and the battle against injustice, basis for the equally classic film with Gregory Peck and Robert Duvall in his film debut as Boo Radley. Very uncommon. *OCLC* locates two copies of the Russian edition, at the University of Georgia and the Los Angeles Public Library.…
