Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. This VG quality first edition book was published in 1970 by Grosset & Dunlap. It is 7-5/8" tall and has 180 numbered pages of text followed by an unnumbered page advertising all six titles in the "Chris Cool" series; it is format #3, as per Mattson & Davis's bibliography (Grosset & Dunlap; 7-5/8"; pictorial composition binding, medium blue spine & back cover with black lettering for title, white lettering for author; pictorial front, in colors; spine & back cover are light orange [or "school bus yellow"]; decorated end pages are black line drawings depicting the same scene as the early end pages did; frontis +8 to +11 full or partial page illustration, all on plain paper. No dust jacket). This book has a very slight lean, is very clean, with no edge dings with all four corners lightly bumped, the front two with slight fabric damage; head and heel are lightly bumped without fabric damage and very little color loss; the bottom edges have little wear except at the heel of the spine and both lower front corners, all of which have some color loss. The colors on the front panel are not faded or damaged and are quite eye-catching; there is some residue from a sticker in the upper front corner. There is a tiny abrasion on the front panel just at Tom's name; and several spots of color loss at the top edge of the pages. The spine is slightly faded. Except for a tiny bit of color bleed from the top edge onto the front end pages and the discoloration remains of yet another sticker on the front paste down, the interior is completely free of writing, stray marks, stains of any sort and page damage of any type. The hinges are strong and not damaged in any way. The frontis and other illustrations are intact. The paper is quite flexible. The book lists only the first 32 Swift Jr. titles on the rear panel; there is no list in the book.
