To achieve this, a standards-based approach was used to guide the training of student teachers in such interactive skills. Three main standards were addressed as the core of the study; classroom communication whether verbal or nonverbal, motivating pupils, and organizing classroom environment. Standards and their related indicators (driven from national and world documents) describe what student teachers should know and be able to do as a result of training. Applying quality teaching standards supports having a link between what student teachers learn at the university to what they do in their teaching practice and to what they will do in the classroom as new teachers.
