Rare Arabian-themed issue of the popular "Lesebogen" series. It provides a brief introduction to Saudi Arabia and its history, focusing on the ascent of Abdulaziz Ibn Saud. With a… portrait of Ibn Saud as well as images of the Kaaba, an oil refinery, and a group of watchmen in the desert. The map shows international boundaries, pipelines and railroads, as well as several major cities including Riyadh, Medina, Mecca, Dhahran, Damaskus, Kuwait and Tehran. - Founded by the German publisher Sebastian Lux in 1946 as a series for young readers, the "Lesebogen" booklets quickly proved a sought-after collectible, reaching 4 million copies in the first 3 years of publication alone. When the final issue appeared in 1964, the Lux publishing house had sold a total of 25 million copies. The immense success of the series is considered the result of a demand for well-edited material on complex matters of the world after the intellectual vacuum of World War II among the German public. 1 S. Qu.-8vo. An einen namentlich nicht genannten Dompfarrer mit Wünschen zu dessen Namenstag. - Andreas Rohracher war 1943-65 von Fürsterzbischof von Salzburg. Nach Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs sich dem religiösen Wiederaufbau des Landes widmend und u. a. den teilweise zerstörten Salzburger Dom wieder herstellen lassend, hielt e…r 1946 bei einer feierlichen Messe für die Jugend Tirols vor dem Goldenen Dachl in Innsbruck eine Predigt, die als die erste große Predigt in Tirol nach Beendigung der NS-Herrschaft gewertet wird. Auch fernerhin nahm Rohracher als Prediger großen Einfluß auf das Erstarken des Glaubens in Österreich, zumal die Gestalt Kardinal Innitzers durch desseb unglückliche Stellung in der NS-Zeit etwas ins Wanken geraten war (vgl. BBKL VIII, s. v.).

Neben seiner schriftstellerischen Tätigkeit hat Güse zahlreiche Ausstellungen eingerichtet, darunter die von großem öffentlichen Andrang und Interesse begleiteten Ausstellungen zur Tunisreise von Klee, Macke und Moilliet (1982), Gemälde und Zeichnungen von August Macke (1986/87), Arbeiten von Henri Matisse (1991), Max Slevogt (1993) sowie von Franz Kline (1994). - Auf Briefpapier mit gedr.
