Michael Wildenhain wurde 1958 in Berlin geboren, wo er nach wie vor lebt. Nach einem Maschinenbaupraktikum studierte er u.a. Philosophie und Informatik, engagierte sich in der Hausbesetzerszene und in verschiedenen antirassistischen Initiativen. W�hrend der letzten Jahre war er nicht nur als Gastprofessor f�r Literarisches Schreiben am Leipziger Literaturinstitut t�tig, sondern auch als Fu�balljugendtrainer. 1983 erschien seine erste Erz�hlung "zum beispiel k." und 1994 sein erstes Jugendbuch im Ravensburger Buchverlag, "Wer sich nicht wehrt", eine Geschichte �ber rechtsradikal motivierte Gewalt an einer Schule, die auf einen authentischen Fall Bezug nimmt. Heute schreibt Michael Wildenhain Romane f�r Jugendliche und f�r Erwachsene, au�erdem Theaterst�cke, Drehb�cher und Lyrik. F�r sein Werk wurde er schon mehrfach ausgezeichnet, u.a. mit dem Ernst-Willner-Preis in Klagenfurt, dem Hans-im-Gl�ck-Preis (1994) und dem Alfred-D�blin-Preis (1997). 2002 war er Stadtschreiber von Rheinsberg und 2006 Writer-in-Residence an der Queen Mary University in London.
