Based on a popular library course taught by the authors at the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg, it provides an overview of information resources today, emphasizing those most readily available in academic libraries. It presents a general overview of the research process, and covers not only general reference sources, but tools for more specialized research, including geographic information, statistical resources, indexes, and a variety of other sources. It concludes with a sample research strategy, illustrating the principles developed throughout the book.
