A collection of papers intended to act as a resource for those libraries which are now entering the process of migrating to a second-generation computer system. The politics of change is discussed in addition to such topics as preparation, management and implementation. This book is the result of a session held at the Fifth Annual Computers in Libraries Conference on "Changing Systems". The contributors argue that change is necessary, especially when change means adding value to the services provided to library clientele.
