This study was envisaged to review and update a quality care system, namely Validation Instruments for Community Pharmacy, that was developed by this research group in 1997 and to investigate the feasibility of elaborating the tools electronically. Through research, it became evident that, since the original study, the scope of community pharmacy has been substantially extended. Psychometric testing established the validity and reliability of the updated tools while the feasibility study unearthed the willingness and interest of implementing the Validation Instruments electronically. This book provides background to the Validation of Community Pharmacy Method and serves as a guide on the implementation of the updated system in community pharmacies, which is intended to document the standard of professional services provided by community pharmacists.

The authors are members of the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, University of Malta. Claire A. Scicluna graduated in pharmacy in 2011 and is reading for an MSc specializing in industrial pharmacy. Professor Lilian M. Azzopardi is Head of Department and Deputy Dean. Anthony Serracino-Inglott is a professor of pharmacy.
