Conservation of these animals require good quality data about various aspect of their likelihood. I t is hard, both labor and time consuming to conduct comprehensive surveys to cover these huge areas. Advances in distance sapling allowed for utilization of small research teams with relatively low logistics to acquire high quality data in relatively short time.
