The 30 s 40 s and 50 s were undoubtedly the Golden Age in Latin American Cinema, particularly in Mexico. Unfortunately, the representations of women were not golden at all. The images of women were mostly about the three broken figures : virgin, mother or prostitute. Since the 60 s a new Latin American cinema emerges. This new cinema was critical in many important issues of politics and social change, but still it was not really critical about women s negative identity widely expressed in the old cinema . It is since the 90 s that one may easily identify more women filmmakers challenging these broken images . The Milk Marketing Boards (MMBs) were set up in 1933 to ensure the fair milk price to dairy farmers. These boards purchased all milk f…rom farmers and paid an equal milk price. In 1994 these boards were disbanded and Milk Marque came into existence. However, in 2000 Milk Marque was divided into three co-operatives. The reason behind weak position of Dairy Co-operatives in the UK are that the ideal time to form and develop the co-operatives has been lost due to MMBs. Capital constrains, lack of vertical integration, high transaction cost, interest disparity between members and management and marketing mechanism restricted the co-operatives. This monograph deals with two empirical studies in which 300 Bangladeshi consumers living in Dhaka city were interviewed regarding their experiences with and attitudes toward mass customized products. The major findings were that attitudes towards customized marketing are being gradually positive. Nearly half of the respondents reported buying a personalized product and these buyers were very satisfied with their purchases. The most likely buyers of this type of product tend to be well educated consumers, younger, and higher than average income levels. Our findings suggest that there is a market for all kinds of personalized products in Bangladesh. Marketers should target downscale consumers with strategies designed to change negative attitudes before sales are made. 68 pp. Englisch.

Many developing countries have set their hopes on valu…e added tax (VAT). This was also the case for Morocco when it introduced VAT in 1986. Over the years it has become evident that the Moroccan VAT is not sufficiently simple, neutral and equitable as the number of exemptions and differentiated rates have multiplied and the informal sector is substantial. A VAT-reform was initiated in 2005 with the aim of progressively implementing a modern VAT, in line with best international practices. In this study, the author evaluates the Moroccan VAT-system, especially following the changes that have been implemented as part of the most recent fiscal reform. 68 pp. Englisch.

Root Mean Square Forecast Errors (RMSFE) of the benchmark autoregressive model are compared with those of bivariate and trivariate vector autoregressions. The pseudo-out-of-sample forecasting results show that (1) the trivariate model using lags of inflation, crop production index and the parallel market exchange rate forecast inflation better (2) the term structure of interest rates also performs well and (3) monetary aggregates fare badly. Further, the study analyses the institutional set-up of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) to determine its independence. Results show that political interests have been driving the monetary policy and this has undermined the credibility of the central bank. Even if independence is not the complete answer, it is at least suggestive that a more autonomous central bank would be effective even though it is neither necessary nor sufficient by itself for achieving and maintaining low inflation. 112 pp. Englisch.

The study noted that there is a problem of alcohol and marijuana dependence among secondary school youth. The prevalence of the problem is high in both public and private boarding secondary schools than day secondary schools. It was one of the early studies that examined the information transmission issue among geographical…ly separated energy markets. Analyses were carried out to uncover the information content embedded in prices and volatilities of Brent and WTI markets for the period from 1994 to 2000. The results supported the hypothesis that WTI was a dominant player and a possible market leader in the price discovery process. They are in contrast to the recent development in crude oil marketplace where Brent crude is widely regarded as an international benchmark while WTI is increasingly considered as US domestic crude. The research results revealed the market features before e-commerce such as electronic screen trading became popular. The empirical findings can have significant implications for traders, risk professionals, policy makers and other market participants. Advanced time series estimation techniques, such as GARCH modelling and duration modelling have been employed.
