Open Innovation literature mostly speaks about its concepts as understood and implemented in the Industrial perspective. The primary objective of this research is to look towards the conceptof Open Innovation from the perspective of the academia.There are multiple ways in which any academic organization gets involved in the various innovation systems that exists around it. The primary reasons for this could vary from gaining resource related research benefits to having its own stand as a contributor to the innovation systems.Primarily this research is based on two different educational institutions and their interaction with their corporate world. With the given limited scope I extracted the relationship of the academia and the corporate world and specifically created a simplified view for the purpose of this research.
