This work presents assistive educational technologies to enable the use of educational robotics with people who are visually impaired or have low vision. The methodology for teaching robotics encompasses a set of technologies and techniques necessary for its insertion, such as methodological teaching procedures, hardware, software and programming languages for robots. We analysed scientific production in this field and identified success stories and their limitations, highlighting two difficulties in inserting this reality into inclusive schools: the high cost of commercial hardware and the lack of accessibility in software for the visually impaired. The latter is mainly due to the excessive use of images and screen readers to use the software, as well as the use of foreign language screen readers. Our aim is to provide access to educational robotics activities for students with visual impairments or low vision. In order to address the main issues related to this challenging problem, we present a low-cost assistive technology called CardBot 2.0.
