About The Book: Indian Educational Policy: Its Principles and Problems by William Meston critically examines the foundations and shortcomings of British educational policies in colonial India. Drawing from his experience in Madras, Meston analyzes how English education was prioritized over vernacular learning, often neglecting the cultural and practical needs of Indian society. The book explores issues like the exclusion of the masses, flawed policy implementation, and the colonial intent behind education. It advocates for reforms grounded in India's social realities and educational inclusiveness.
