Replacement white endpapers; original green/grey free endpapers bound in. All edges speckled red, top edges toned. Pusey's sermon, 'The Holy Eucharist a Comfort to the Penitent', was controversial enough in the climate of the 1840s that it saw him suspended from his duties as a university preacher for two years; the condemned sermon went on to sell 18,000 copies. Sibthorp converted back and forth from Anglicanism to Catholicism several times. ~Robust packaging. All UK orders trackable, others on request. Used books are exempt from USA tariffs.
