A scarce edition of Aunt Louisa's illustrated alphabets. Scarce work. Illustrated with 24 coloured plates. Collated, missing frontispiece. Comprising the nursery alphabet, country alphabet, London alphabet, and alphabet of games and sports. Written by Aunt Louisa, the pen name of Laura Belinda Charlotte Jewry, a Victorian English writer primarily known for her children's literature. She created many children's series including Aunt Louisa's Toy Books, Aunt Louisa"s Big Picture Series, and The Young Folk's Shakespeare Series. In the original green cloth binding. Externally, smart with light shelf wear and rubbing to the extremities. Minor fraying to the edges of the boards and spine. Internally, generally firmly bound, though title page may detach with further handling and frontispiece is missing. Pages are bright and clean with light scattered spotting to the first and last few pages. Coloured pencil marks to one page near rear. Very Good. Codice articolo 844T110
