Geofroy Tory published his own book, Champ Fleury, in 1529. The topics of this text range from handwriting styles to the proper use of grammar. It was one of the most important and influential works of the time, and set a standard for French publishing that in many ways is still followed today. Tory is best known for introducing the apostrophe, the acute accent and grave accent, and the cedilla to the French language.
