Detailed Table of Contents, List of Illustrations (29 Figures), Glossary, Table of Accepted Physical Constants, Table of Estimated Identic Constants, xvi, 243 pages; plus Appendices of 24 pages, dated after the book's publication. The red cloth shows a bit of rubbing at extremities, with two corners bumped; spine is slightly faded, with gilt lettering still legible. [Please see my 8 images of the actual book.] There is slight toning overall and a neat cut-out to the front free endpaper corner, probably from the excising of a signature. Two appendices (8 and 16 pages) have been set in at the back endpapers, leaving small marks from the staples; their last page is age-toned. Binding remains tight; pages crisp and clean. [Again, see images.] "The first sixteen chapters seem to the writer to constitute a thorough proof of the theory using a homely simile, the remaining chapters might be considered to be an attempt to solve the jig-saw puzzle of the physical universe. . . ." As with every book from my father's collection, tipped-in at the front is the small, attractive, acid-free bookplate pictured on my homepage. The books listed here are, indeed, from my father's library, representing the depth and varied interests of a modern scholar's mind. Dr. Henry LeRoy Finch, professor emeritus of philosophy and a published author, trained in the classics (graduating top in his class at Yale), and went on to develop an appreciation for modern thinkers. It took over half-a-century to amass this collection of primarily-scholarly books with a broad range of subjects from Philosophy and Religion (with an emphasis on the interrelationships and intricacies of Eastern and Western Thinking) to scientific influences played out over the entire history of humankind, touching necessarily on Art, Anthropology, Archaeology, Literature, History of various Cultures, Psychology, Physics, and Spiritual Thought, including Theosophy and Mysticism. Many are esoteric philosophical works, out-of-print and unavailable elsewhere. A great number cover the interconnections of so many subjects as to defy classification. His was a working library: each volume was read and familiar, its whereabouts on a shelf always known, even when "double-parked." Though many of the books are esoteric, others will appeal to the general reader, often making an abstruse subject more approachable. (There are a hundred books on Einstein alone!) In addition, there are numerous paperbacks--classics, scholarly, first-published editions, several versions of the same book (in different translations), handy for packing along in a back pocket. Each of the volumes from the collection has a bookplate tipped in at the front and may have pencil marginalia--sparse or profuse. I have tried to reflect this in all the listings, but feel free to call and discuss further details of a book's condition. As it will take a long time to write up all the descriptions, some of you may wish to call and ask about a particular book you have been seeking. Meanwhile, I'll try to keep an eye on the "Wants" list. Thank you for visiting this page. I hope my father's books will eventually find happy homes; it was one of his last wishes.…

I have no store front; for sales by email (or telephone), please send check or money-order payable in US dollars. Credit card orders are welcome through Abebooks. Please contact me if you need more information (or scans) for any of the books. I try to describe each one carefully but if you feel it has been misrepresented, any book is returnable within a reasonable amount of time. Please notify me first. My policy is to charge only the actual shipping rates: Media mail is $3.20 anywhere within the United States for the first volume (it takes 7 to 10 days, sometimes a little longer); for Priority mail (two or three days usually), cost is $5.50 for one volume.

Per esercitare il diritto di recesso, compila e invia elettronicamente una dichiarazione esplicita sul nostro sito Web, alla voce “I miei acquisti” nella sezione “Mio account”. Ti comunicheremo senza indugio una conferma di ricezione di tale recesso su un supporto durevole (ad es. via e-mail).
Per rispettare il termine di recesso, è sufficiente inviare la comunicazione relativa all'esercizio del diritto di recesso prima della scadenza del periodo di recesso stesso.
Effetti del recesso
In caso di recesso dal presente contratto, ti rimborseremo tutti i pagamenti ricevuti, compresi i costi di spedizione (ad eccezione dei costi supplementari derivanti dalla tua eventuale scelta di un tipo di spedizione diverso dal tipo meno costoso di consegna standard da noi offerto).
Potremo effettuare una detrazione dal rimborso per la perdita di valore dei beni forniti, qualora tale perdita sia il risultato di una manipolazione non necessaria da parte tua.
Eseguiremo il rimborso senza indebito ritardo e non oltre 14 giorni dal giorno in cui saremo informati della tua decisione di recedere dal presente contratto.
Il rimborso sarà effettuato utilizzando lo stesso mezzo di pagamento da te usato per la transazione iniziale, salvo che tu non abbia espressamente concordato altrimenti; in ogni caso, non dovrai sostenere alcun costo quale conseguenza di tale rimborso.
Possiamo trattenere il rimborso finché non avremo ricevuto i beni oppure finché non avrai fornito la prova di averli rispediti, a seconda di quale condizione si verifichi per prima.
Dovrai rispedire i beni o consegnarli a My Father's Books, Bennington, Vermont, U.S.A., +1 802-442-5520, senza indebito ritardo e, in ogni caso, entro 14 giorni dal giorno in cui ci hai comunicato la tua volontà di recedere dal presente contratto. Il termine è rispettato se rispedisci i beni prima della scadenza del periodo di 14 giorni. I costi diretti della restituzione dei beni saranno a tuo carico. Sei responsabile solo della diminuzione del valore dei beni risultante da una manipolazione diversa da quella necessaria per stabilire la natura, le caratteristiche e il funzionamento dei beni stessi.
Eccezioni al diritto di recesso
Il diritto di recesso non si applica a:
- La fornitura di giornali, periodici o riviste ad eccezione dei contratti di abbonamento; e
- La fornitura di contenuto digitale non fornito su un supporto materiale (ad es. su un CD o DVD), se al momento dell'invio dell'ordine hai accettato l'inizio dell'esecuzione e hai riconosciuto che non avresti potuto recedere una volta iniziata l'esecuzione.

If your book order is heavy or oversized, I may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required. Please note that new flat-rate-priority shipping boxes allow up to five books to be sent within the United States at just double the rate for a single volume. For most international sales, I ship books well protected in priority mailers.
