Bound in original blue cloth, gilt, with blind stamped title block on front boards. Extremities a little worn but otherwise a very good interior. Illustrated throughout by black and white photographs, national markings, silhouette three view drawings and by tables. Advertisement endpapers. The 1945-46 edition of the standard reference work on aircraft, first published in 1909. The work, which shows the state of the world's aviation in the later years of the war, is divided into four sections: two historical, World Air Power (Service Aviation) and Civil Aviation (with entries arranged by country) and Aeroplanes and Aero-Engines (both arranged by manufacturer within each country). Leonard Bridgman (1877-1980) was an aviation journalist and artist, who edited Jane's from 1941-59.
