4to, in eights. 8 x 11 inches. 223+ [1] pp. + 192 pp. Bound in original blue cloth with gilt and black titles gilt, and block of Bösig Castle on front board. A little wear to extremities, but otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by map and by numerous engravings in text, with some by Walter Crane, and many whole page, including frontispiece and title page and endpiece vignettes. Well illustrated account of Bohemia, part of a series for the Religious Tract Society. James Baker, F.R.H.S., F.R.G.S. (1847-1920) was a novelist and travel writer, with a particular interest in Bohemia. Includes drawings from the artist and book illustrator, Walter Crane (1845-1915). Founded by Patrick Marrin's father George in 1946, Marrin's Bookshop has been based in its current Folkestone location since 1963. Patrick has worked in bookselling since 1970. As well as rare antiquarian books, maps and prints, the stock includes a wide range of literature, library sets, travel, history and illustrated books in all fields. We also offer a bookbinding and restoration service. Visitors to the shop are welcome and we exhibit at UK book fairs.
