This work is a thorough guide to roses in all their different varieties, the guide intended for amateurs in rose gardening. Some of the roses looked at include the moss rose, hybrid provence rose, the scotch rose, the damask rose, the evergreen rose, the banksian rose, the bourbon rose, the musk rose, and more. Also including information on the culture and propagation of roses, looking at the planting, soils, insects, diseases, how to have blooming roses on the winter, and more. Written by Thomas Rivers. Rivers was known for developing new varieties of roses and fruits. Some of his other works include 'Catalogue of Roses', 'Miniature Fruit Garden', and 'The Orchard House'. With thirty-two pages of publisher's adverts to the rear. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, with some light fading to the spine. Small cracks to the joints. A little bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Front hinge is starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with some scattered spotting. Very Good.…
