Aggiungere al carrelloLines written on Cape Northumberland. Pp. [4]; demy 16mo; pictorial cream paper wrappers, stapled, faintly soiled, with some silverfish damage (heaviest around the title on the upper wrapper); staples a trifle rusted; [the author, Mount Gambier, South Australia, 1939?]. Farmer p. 57; BAL P-Z p. 54. *Signed and dated (26th June 1942) by the poet at foot of page 4. The cover illustration, although unattributed, is presumably by Perryman, who is known to have studied art. Born in 1887 at Port MacDonnell in South Australia, Charles Elliott Perryman served in World War I with the Army Medical Corps, and worked for a time in the 1930s as a lighthouse keeper at Cape Willoughby. E. Morris Miller, Australian Literature from Its Beginnings to 1935 records that Elliott contributed to various journals including Pearson's Magazine and The Advertiser, and that he also published poems and drawings in the form of greeting cards for his friends.
