Gray, Thomas [Roderic Miles Doughty Thesiger and Claudius Aurelius Elliott] Thomas Gray (26 December 1716 - 30 July 1771) was an English poet, letter-writer, classical scholar and professor at Pembroke College, Cambridge. He is widely known for his Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard, published in 1751.

Quarto 10½'' x 8''. Contains [xvi] 87 [i] printed pages of text. From the library of Captain Roderic Miles Doughty Thesiger [1915-2005], brother of Wilfred Patrick Thesiger [1910-2003] with the Eton College Latin dedication page SIGNED by Roderic Miles Doughty Thesiger and Claudius Aurelius Elliott. The boards are slightly sprung, minor tanning to the paper and in Very Good clean condition. Member of the P.B.F.A. POETRY, VERSE & RHYMES.
