Likely a Taiwan pirate edition (lacking publisher imprint but with 1967 specified upon title and copyright pages). [4], i-viii, 1-400 pages. Hardcover: H 21cm x L 14.25cm. Yellow dust jacket rubbed with light soiling; a few shallow chips, nicks, short tears, and some creasing/bumping at edges; vertical crease to front flap with printed price at top corner. Blue cloth with vibrant silver stamped lettering to spine. Slight toning to text block edges and endpapers; ink number notation discreetly written at rfep verso's top fore-edge corner; pages 193-204 have fractionally jagged trimming at their lower fore-edges. Interior pages are otherwise clean. Binding is firm. Else a very good copy in a very good- dust jacket. With b/w frontispiece (albeit a bit grainy in its reproduction), Notes, and Index. Chinese character set on first rear flyleaf's verso. This book's binding cloth and thin paper stock differ significantly from original Doubleday & Company copies. Those qualities in conjunction with the circumstance of the brief Chinese text make this undoubtedly a Taiwanese pirate edition which, despite evoking images of surreptitious backroom print shops cutting corners and costs, were often (as is the case with this volume) still sturdy, well-made books with their sale targeted to U.S. servicemen and personnel stationed in southeast Asia.
