Published two years after Anderson's death, this book was put together by editor, Malcolm Barness, after trawling through Anderson's extensive manuscripts and notes. "Kenneth Anderson .was of the sixth generation of Scotsmen resident in India. They had lived, worked and died there, and had rarely gone away. .Kenneth himself had only once been to Scotland; he did so because his family thought that perhaps he ought to train for some profession - in fact as a chartered accountant - that would be of use in either land." The attentive reader of Anderson's stories of life in the jungle will quickly guess how long he actually spent training in Edinburgh.
