Höflich spielte in Bromberg, Nürnberg, Wien und 1903-32 am Deutschen Theater Berlin. Sie gründete in Berlin ein eigenes Studio zur Ausbildung von Bühnennachwuchs. Nach 1945 war sie Direktorin und Regisseurin am Staatstheater Schwerin, zuletzt trat sie aber wieder auf West-Berliner Bühnen auf. Auch beim Film war sie zu sehen, spielte aber dort, anders als beim Theater, meist nur Nebenrollen. In zweiter Ehe war sie vorübergehend mit Emil Jannings verheiratet. Bei dem Kollegen handelt es sich wahrscheinlich um den (Film-)Schauspieler und Regisseur Fritz Eckart. Aufnahme des bedeutenden Photographen und Filmpioniers C.H.Louis Held (1851-1927). Er hatte im Atelier von J.C. Schaarwächter in Berlin gelernt, bevor er zusammen mit dem Photographen C. Steinl 1876 ein erstes eigenes Atelier in Berlin eröffnete. Dieses bestand aber nur kurz, Held trennte sich von seinem Partner und war kurzzeitig Filialleiter einer Hutfabrik. Ab 1879 betrieb er alleine sein zweites Berliner Atelier, bevor er 1882 dann nach Weimar übersiedelte und bald zum Großherzoglichen Hofphotographen avancierte. Neben vielen Bildern der herzoglichen Familie enstanden dort u.a. auch Portraits des alten Franz Liszt. 1905 verlor er aber seinen Titel, da er die verstorbene Großherzogin auf dem Totenbett photographiert und das Bild an die Berliner Presse weitergegeben hatte. Der Herzog war so erbost über diese Indiskretion, daß er Held zu sich bestellte, ihn ohrfeigte und mit einer Peitsche schlug. Um 1900 wandte sich Held auch dem neuen Medium Film zu und nahm ab 1910 erste eigene Dokumentar- und Spielfilme auf, u.a. mit der damals noch völlig unbekannten Lil Dagover. 1912 eröffnete er im Gebäude seines Ateliers auch ein eigenes Lichtspielhaus. 1925 übergab er sein Atelier an seine Tochter und experimentierte in den letzten zwei Jahren vor seinem Tod mit den frühen Techniken der Farbphotographie.
