2 S. (A 4). In eigenhändig adressiertem Briefkuvert. An Traudel Sinzenich von der Kulturredaktion von Radio Stuttgart (später Süddeutscher Rundfunk). "Das Memorandium von Herrn Dr. Müller zu unserem Gespräch über Angst und Furcht habe ich zur Kenntnis genommen. Ich finde es offen gesagt nicht sehr originell. Es handelt sich sche…int mir, um die handelsüblichen Einwände einer ganz leicht subalternen, ganz leicht gestrigen Weltlichkeit (mit edlen Absichten) gegen die angeblich so selbstsichere und unerschütterliche Argumentation der 'Gläubigen'. Wenn die Leute wüßten, was es mit dem Glauben auf sich hat! Jeder 'Nihilismus', jeder Rationalismus und politischer Ideologismus ist, am Glauben gemessen, eine Bequemlichkeitslösung[.]" Wohl Reaktion auf eine Rundfunksendung. Holthusen lebte seit 1945 als freier Schriftsteller in München und war zwei Jahrzehnte lang als Gastprofessor an amerikanischen Universitäten tätig. 1961-64 war er Direktor des amerikanisch-deutschen Kulturinstituts "Goethe House" in New York und von 1968-74 Präsident der Bayerischen Akademie der Schönen Künste. Traudel Flackus (geb. Sinzenich - Lebensdaten nicht ermittelt) war nach dem Krieg Mitarbeiterin in der Literaturabteilung der Kulturedaktion von Radio Stuttgart (später Süddeutscher Rundfunk) und dort Kollegin des Literaturhistorikers Karl Schwedhelm, der seit 1947 dort Lektor und von 1955-1978 Leiter dieser Abteilung war. Mit dem seit 1949 ebenfalls dort beschäftigten jungen Martin Walser verband sie eine zeitlang eine mehr als nur kollegiale Freundschaft. Sie betreute Dichter bei ihren Rundfunklesungen und las auch selbst im Radio. Dadurch war sie mit vielen Dichtern bekannt und z.T. auch, wie mit Schwedhelm, enger und lebenslang befreundet.
