Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book details the record of a meeting held in 1893 in Bilbao, Spain called to protest proposed commercial treaties between Spain, Germany, and Italy that the industrialists of Spain believed would damage and possibly destroy Spanish production. Those gathered argued that Spain would lose far more than it would gain by finalizing these treaties. This book details the speeches given at this meeting by various Spanish industrialists, each arguing against the specific details of the proposed treaties and their specific industries. Written at a time of instability for Spain, this book shows the fears and concerns of those who worried about the impact of globalization and foreign competition on local businesses.
