I have come to the conclusion that I would be better off avoiding anquish over the choice, and simply go for it! So here goes. Please find: "The Black Dog and Other Stories" by A.E. Coppard. This small hard cover book was published by Alfred A. Knopf of New York, dated 1923 with no other indication of edition. The book is bound with decorative paper over a black cloth quarter spine with a paper title label. The page edges are deckled, not always carefully. Please see the photo of the Table of Contents for further information. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The hard covers are a bit dust-dulled and edge worn but nothing extreme. There is a bit of a raised corner on the paper label on the spine. Inside, a former owner has left a penciled name on the front endpaper which also has some smudges of soiling. The interior pages are generally clean and bright although one finds a few more light smudges (nothing significant; you will have to search). Both hinges are intact and the binding is tight and sound although a bit canted to the right. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.…
