Three vintage photographs and one borderless publicity photograph from the 1944 musical film. A musical revue about a former vaudeville star who decides to try his luck at Hollywood. Notable for its extensive celebrity cameos, including appearances by Orson Welles, Lon Chaney Jr., Dinah Shore, Noah Beery Jr., The Andrews Sisters, Jeanette MacDonald, and Maria Montez, among many more. Set in Hollywood. Three 8 x 10 inches, one 6.75 x 9 inches. Very Good plus, several lightly and evenly toned, one with a short closed tear to the top left corner.

The film debut of Abbott and Costello. From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s. 10 x 8 inches. Very Good plus.

First White script for the 1931 Pre-Code film. An early starring performance for Carole Lombard, made prior to her 1934 star breakthrough in Howard Hawks' "Twentieth Century." Included is a studio still photograph of Lombard and Lilyan Tashman from the film, with the unusual feature of having an associated quote from the scene added to the negative at the bottom margin. In this romance, an aspiring writer encounters a wealthy publisher who gives him an advance on the first two chapters of his book. Meanwhile, his wife helps out by becoming a chorus girl in a nightclub revue. Tall white studio self wrappers, noted as TALL WHITE SCRIPT on the front wrapper, rubber-stamped production No. 1794, dated February 24th, 1931, with credits for playwrights Hackett and Goodrich, screenwriters Kober and Unsell, director Sutherland, and producer Sheldon. 146 leaves, mimeograph duplication, with blue revision pages throughout, dated 2-25-31.
