Confined by an accident in the mid-1930s, he wrote an account of his life up to that time, but when he recovered enough to take his paints and easel outdoors again, he left the manuscript in a trunk where it remained until after his death thirty years later. Now edited for publication, Warshawsky's memoir is not only the autobiography of an engaging personality but a valuable first person addition to accounts of expatriate life during the heyday of the American art colony in Paris.
