Through the 341 texts included, the reader may encounter a musical thought revealing itself in a multitude of nuances that touch upon the various domains of the intellectual activity of many generations. This musical thought concerns the whole range of history, philosophy, cosmology, medicine, theology, etc.: it implies a vast interest in music and a profound veneration for it and its mysteries.
