Softcover / Paperback. Condizione: Fine. 3rd edition. Paperback. SIGNED. The author, a former Yeoman Warder, explores the spectral legends tied to the fortressâs grim history. He recounts hauntings like Anne Boleynâs headless figure, the Princes in the Towerâs restless spirits, and eerie sounds of executed prisoners. Organised by Tower locations, it blends historical accounts of executions and torture with brief ghostly encounters, such as floating glasses or unexplained screams. While rich in atmosphere from Abbottâs insider perspective, the book leans heavily on history, offering sparse supernatural detail, making it more a historical narrative than a ghost story collection. Illus., Select Bibliog. 85pp. p/back. With loosely inserted postcard of the author in his Beefeater uniform at the Tower of London. PRESENTATION COPY INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY GEOFFREY ABBOTT.
