Hardcover, ivory cloth boards show very little handling wear but the exterior does show a lot of smudge marks, which is likely coal dust as this came from the upper East Coast "coal country". The interior binding is good, no serious hinge issues oth…er than some light pulling and hairline cracking in spots. The front pastedown contains a bookplate belonging to Edith C. Clarke which is the only markings found in the book. There are no signatures, no library markings, no handwriting found. The tissue guard for the frontispiece is still present in very good shape as is the red ribbon bookmark. The image at page 44 is a small tear in the corner but the rest of the pages appear good. The interior binding is tight but also brittle. When examining the book while typing this description I found that a thin hinge crack appeared if I opened the pages too far.
