Presumed first edition, very good+ in a very good dust jacket. 1925 presentation "For Attendance & Good Conduct" in ink on front endpaper; minor soiling to foredge of page block. The jacket, with four color illustration of two girls playing tennis on a grass court, has a little loss at corners and spine ends, and a larger chip at the bottom of the rear panel, none of which affect any lettering. The book has grayish cloth with black line drawings on front board and spine, plus lettering on spine. A tight, square copy.

Originally published by Stanley Paul in the mid 1920s and this is presumed to be the first cheap edition. The boards have some patches of discolouration to the rear panel but are otherwise unmarked. Light browning to the page edges with some scattered dark spotting. Yellow spotting to the endpapers and there is a little spotting to the adjacent pages but the pages are otherwise unmarked. The jacket has a little chipping to the corners and at the top and bottom of the spine. The spine has some label residue and there is a little edge and surface wear.
