It is 25 short Sunday talks a dying pastor gave so that others would live wholeheartedly for Christ and meet death without regret.Adolphe Monod (1802?1856) was the leading evangelical preacher of the French Reformed Awakening?sometimes called ?the Voice of the Awakening.? After a long struggle, he came to personal faith in 1827. He pastored and later taught pastors at Montauban.In 1855 he was dying of liver cancer. For the last six months of his life, family and friends gathered in his bedroom each Sunday, shared the Lord?s Supper, and heard him speak from the bed (he sometimes gripped an iron bar through the pain). Those 25 meditations were written down and published after his death.
