Belle édition des commentaires du pape Adrien VI sur les Sentences de Pierre Lombard, sortie des presses de Hémon Le Fèvre, imprimeur libraire actif à Paris de 1509 à 1525, dont le titre imprimé dans un bel encadrement architectural gravé sur bois porte les initiales, tandis que certaines lettrines et caractères sont attribués à Jean Cornillau, ainsi que Jean II Du Pré et Pierre Vidoue. Suit l'édition de 1518 avec la préface Josse Bade adressée à J. Dassonville datée 1516, année de la première édition établie à l?insu de son auteur.Adriaan Floriszoon, né à Utrecht en 1459, devint pape en 1522 à la mort de Léon X sous le nom d'Adrien VI. Avant cela, il fut chanoine d'Anderlecht, ami d'Erasme et précepteur, puis conseiller de Charles Quint. Il fut également évêque de Tortosa. Partisan de l'humanisme, il entreprend de réformer le clergé romain - il s'oppose notamment à la vente des sacrements et des postes ecclésiastiques. Par son mode de vie simple et austère, par sa sévérité face à certains abus du clergé, le premier pape de l'Histoire issu des Pays-Bas constituait une menace pour les membre de la curie. Il mourut à Rome en 1523 après seulement une année de pontificat.
