This was undertaken during 2010-11 in Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat and a model with crops (Fiel…d+Horticultural)- Diary- Poultry- Fishery- Apiary - Liquid manure production- Vermi-composting- Bio-gas plant and value addition was developed and projected as a zero-waste model. The aim of the project was to meet the annual food requirement of a family (having 5 members) as far as possible, sustain natural resources and to present a zero waste model with 1 hectare cultivated area. Recycling of all the bio-wastes generated within the IFS model and thereby reducing cost for purchase inputs, encouraging organic inputs, reducing release of GHG and improving the economic viability was the motive behind development of the model. The authors are hopeful that the book would be of immense help to the Scientist and Farmers in pursuing Integrated Farming System activities globally as a zero waste strategy and help in mitigating Global warming by reducing the release of GHG. 56 pp. Englisch.

Le recyclage de tous les biodechets generes dans le cadre du modele IFS, et donc la reduction des couts d'achat des intrants, l'encouragement des intrants biologiques, la reduction des emissions de GES et l'amelioration de la viabilite economique etaient les motivations derriere le developpement du modele. Das Motiv hinter der Entwicklung des Modells war das Recycling aller im Rahmen des IFS-Modells anfallenden Bioabfaelle und damit die Senkung der Kosten fuer den Einkauf von Betriebsmitteln, die Foerderung des Einsatzes organischer Betriebsmittel, die Verringerung der Treibhausgasemissionen und die Verbesserung der Wirtschaftlichkeit. Se llevó a cabo durante 2010-11 en la Universidad Agrícola de As…sam, Jorhat, y se desarrolló un modelo con cultivos (campo + horticultura), ganadería, avicultura, pesca, apicultura, producción de estiércol líquido, vermicompostaje, planta de biogás y valor añadido, que se proyectó como un modelo de cero residuos. El objetivo del proyecto era satisfacer en la medida de lo posible las necesidades alimentarias anuales de una familia (de 5 miembros), preservar los recursos naturales y presentar un modelo de cero residuos con 1 hectárea de superficie cultivada. El motivo que impulsó el desarrollo del modelo fue el reciclaje de todos los residuos biológicos generados dentro del modelo IFS y, por lo tanto, la reducción del coste de los insumos de compra, el fomento de los insumos orgánicos, la reducción de las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero y la mejora de la viabilidad económica.
