We noted the following facts: Herpetologically, snakes have external characteristics that allow them to be identified; the species observed apart from Naja nigricollis and Python reguis are those of the southern forest regions. In Abidjan, the colubrids and Naja nigricollis were the most observed; the other genera, notably Atractaspis, Bitis, Caus, Python and Dendroaspis are represented. The proportion of genera with bites that are harmless to humans in Abidjan is the highest. Among the species known to be dangerous, specimens with highly toxic venom have been collected. Clinically, most snake bites are accompanied by a benign symptomatology that yields to symptomatic treatment after 72 hours. 96 pp. Englisch.

Wir haben die folgenden Fakten festgestellt: Aus herpetologischer Sicht haben die Schlangen äußere Merkmale, die es ermöglichen, sie zu identifizieren; die beobachteten Arten sind, abgesehen von Naja nigricollis und Python reguis, die der südlichen Waldregionen. In Abidjan wurden die Colubriden und Naja nigricollis am häufigsten beobachtet; die anderen Gattungen, vor allem Atractaspis, Bitis, Caus, Python und Dendroaspis, sind vertreten. Tomámos nota dos seguintes factos: Do ponto de vista herpetológico, as cobras têm características externas que permitem a sua identificação; as espécies observadas, para além de Naja nigricollis e Python reguis, são as das regiões florestais do sul. Em Abidjan, os colubrídeos e Naja nigricollis foram os mais frequentemente observados; os outros géneros, nomeadamente Atractaspis, Bitis, Causa, Python e Dendroaspis estão representados. A proporção de géneros com mordidas inofensivas para os humanos em Abidjan é a mais elevada. Entre as espécies conhecidas como sendo perigosas, foram recolhidos espécimes com veneno altamente tóxico. Wir haben die folgenden Fakten festgestellt: Aus herpetologischer Sicht haben die Schlangen äußere Merkmale, die es ermöglichen, sie zu identifizieren; die beobachteten Arten sind, abgesehen von Naja nigricollis und Python reguis, die der südlichen Waldregionen. In Abidjan wurden die Colubriden und Naja nigricollis am häufigsten beobachtet; die anderen Gattungen, vor allem Atractaspis, Bitis, Caus, Python und Dendroaspis, sind vertreten. Der Anteil der Gattungen, deren Bisse für den Menschen harmlos sind, ist in Abidjan am höchsten. Von den Arten, die als gefährlich bekannt sind, wurden Exemplare mit hochgiftigem Gift gesammelt. Abbiamo notato i seguenti fatti: Dal punto di vista erpetologico, i serpenti hanno caratteristiche esterne che permettono di identificarli; le specie osservate, a parte Naja nigricollis e Python reguis, sono quelle delle regioni forestali meridionali. Ad Abidjan, i colubridi e Naja nigricollis erano i più comunemente osservati; gli altri generi, in particolare Atractaspis, Bitis, Caus, Python e Dendroaspis sono rappresentati. La proporzione di generi con morsi innocui per l'uomo ad Abidjan è la più alta. Tra le specie note per essere pericolose, sono stati raccolti esemplari con veleno altamente tossico.
