Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - This volume of Lecture Notes in Computer Science contains all accepted papers th of the 5 International Conference on Innovative Internet Community Systems 2 (I CS), which was held at the Sorbonne in Paris, from June 20-22, 2005. The previous four conferences in Ilmenau, Rostock, Leipzig (Germany) and Guadalajara (Mexico) developed the pro le of this event. Traditionally, there are topics discussed in three main aspects. All of them must be considered in a united manner in order to investigate and understand the emergence and evolution of communities in the Internet: knowledge about networking, content and text processing as well as theory. The goal of the I2CS workshop is to bring researchers from both industry and academic elds together to discuss current progressandfuturedevelopmentsintheseareasandtoeliminatethegapbetween theory and application. At this point, we want to express immense gratitude to all the authors of the submitted papers and to the members of the international Program Committee for their contribution to the success of the event and a program of high quality. In a peer-to-peer review process, 17 papers were selected out of 27 submissions.

OPODIS is a yearly selective international forum for researchers and prac- tioners in design and development of distributed systems. This year, we received 102 submissions from 28 countries. Each submission was carefully reviewed by three to six Program Committee members with the help of external reviewers, with 30 regular papers and 11 short papers being selected. The overall quality of submissions was excellent and there were many papers that had to be rejected because of organization constraints yet deserved to be published. The two invited keynotes dealt with hot topics in distributed systems: ¿The Next 700 BFT Protocols¿ by Rachid Guerraoui and ¿On Rep- cation of Software Transactional Memories¿ by Luis Rodriguez. On behalf of the Program Committee, we would like to thank all authors of submitted papers for their support. We also thank the members of the Ste- ing Committee for their invaluable advice. We wish to express our apprec- tion to the Program Committee members and additional external reviewers for their tremendous e?ort and excellent reviews.
