This striking 3-D photo-illustrated survey of sculpture in the Third Reich covers a wide range of subjects. Among the 135 three-dimensional views are female nudes, human busts of important figures like Adolf Hitler, Albert Speer, Professor Dornier, von Moltke, Gauleiter Wagner, Richard Wagner, male nudes, and military figures. In addition there are photos of eagles, horses, tigers, as well as monumental figures created to decorate facilities of the Luftwaffe, Reichsautobahn, Wehrmacht, Reichsbank, Hermann Göring's Luftwaffe Ministerium, Hitler's Berlin Reichschancellery (several views), Radio Deutschland, Ordensburgen of the NSDAP, the Feldherrnhalle, Reichsparteitagsgelände (State Party Day Grounds) in Nürnberg, the Berlin Olympic Stadium, etc. Many of the 3-D photographs were taken at the House of German Art in München. Each of the 135 stereo photos measure 2-3/8 x 5" and have a full description of the subject printed at verso. Includes eight full page b/w photographic plates in the text depicting nudes, horses and showing some of the most renowned German sculptors of the period, such as Georg Kolbe, Arno Breker, Josef Thorak and Adolf Wamper, at work in their studios. Text in German. Binding with very light wear at head of spine. Text block lightly age-toned. Binding and interior in very good, stereo-photographs and stereoscope in near fine condition. Very good to near fine condition.
