Aggiungi al carrelloVictoria Ocean Press 2014 Softcover, 175pp., 14x21cm., illustr. in b/w., in good condition (covers with traces of use, inside very good). ISBN 9781876175702. The Motorcycle Diaries is the travel diary of the young Ernesto Che Guevara, written during his journey through Latin America in 1951, years before he would play a central role in the Cuban Revolution. The book follows Guevara and his friend Alberto Granado as they travel through Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia and other countries on an old motorbike, the 'La Poderosa II', and confront the social and economic realities of the region. This edition includes a foreword by Che Guevara's daughter Aleida Guevara March and an introduction by Cuban poet Cintio Vitier, as well as unpublished photographs from the journey. Ernesto Che Guevara (1928-1967) was an Argentine revolutionary, physician, and writer. He gained worldwide fame as one of the most important figures of the Cuban Revolution alongside Fidel Castro. In his younger years, he studied medicine and travelled throughout Latin America, documenting his experiences in this diary. His daughter Aleida Guevara March wrote the foreword to this edition and offers an insightful reflection on her father as a person and an icon. Cuban poet Cintio Vitier wrote the introduction, which provides context for Guevara's early travels and thoughts.
