Here is the truth about flying saucers - authentic eyewitness testimony from hundreds of responsible observers - what they actually saw during the year of the UFO when, day after day, night after night, something rode the skies of Earth - something not of this realm? Aime Michel, mathematician and engineer, presents baffling and extraordinary yet undeniable facts about one of the most important topics of our time - and some startling, yet realistic, speculations about what the saucers really are. There are several paragraphs on WWII "foo fighters" or "kraut fireballs," and similar sightings afterward. But apparently this line of investigation was stalemated and remained mostly buried. This advanced ongoing technology had been distributed from Germany following the war, to America, Britain, the Soviet Union, Antarctica, and South America. First published in 1956, engineer and mathematician Aime Michel delves into the matter of "flying saucers," or UFO's or UAE, etc. The 50's was an era with innumerable "flaps," including the infamous 1952 mass sighting over Washington D.C. which is addressed. There were also odd events, such as "angel hair" falling to the ground. Mostly, Michel focuses on aerial sightings, especially those with hard evidence such as radar returns. Michel adopts a no-nonsense approach. Michel presents "The Plantier Theory" involving an officer in the French Air Force. Lt. Plantier's theory explains that saucers traveling vast distances at incredible speeds without sonic booms may be accounted for by force fields. An intense field surrounding saucer and allowing for ease of movement through the atmosphere and also for cases where the objects appear to distort and change shape. Also part of this theory is that the craft may manipulate lines of energy existing in time and space. Michel highlights unique cases with a purposeful approach, dedication to facts and critical thinking. He also presents counter-arguments to UFO debunker, Donald Menzel, the astronomer that Stanton Friedman accused of being a member of Majestic 12. Additionally, a cogent argument is presented against the Soviet Union as an explanation for the sightings. Finally, a chapter by Father Francis J. Connell explaining how alien existence can be compatible with Catholicism. Includes detailed ten-page index. Two pages of adverts for Pyramid Spy Thriller and Newest Pyramid Science Fiction. 270 pages. Insured post. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
