The museum was operating in a building dated back to the 18th century, on an estate where Skovoroda was buried. ON THE NIGHT OF 6-7 MAY 2022 THE BUILDING WAS DESTROYED WITH A DIRECT RUSSIAN MISSILE STRIKE IN THE TIME THE RUSSIAN INVASION OF UKRAINE. The shell flew under the roof of the building, and A FIRE BROKE OUT. The fire engulfed the entire museum premises. AS A RESULT SKOVORODA NATIONAL MUSEUM WAS DESTROYED TOGETHER WITH THE HISTORICAL BUILDING.''.
