Aside from the library markings, and the ABSENT CD, the book is in Very Good condition. But, given the absent CD, some might grade this copy lower, and I would not disagree with that assessment. First Edition. On p. 392 Barber writes about the CD, which, I repeat, is NOT present in this copy. This was the only release of the CD, as the plan to release it as a Naxos CD did not come to fruition. As of July 2026, there are three other copies for sale online: $200 on eBay (photos show it is a better copy and it does have the CD), $316 on Amazon UK, and $2999.99 on Amazon. You can wait for another copy to appear (I am sure others will appear), or take your pick among these 4 choices.

Boards are worn and toned, gently rubbed and rounded on corners and spine ends. Spine label curling at edges. A little faint and occasional spotting on pages, gutter parting between frontispiece and title page else internally neat and clean. A now very hard to find title. Siloti, the Russian virtuoso pianist, conductor and composer, recalls Franz Liszt, with whom he studied early in his career. Siloti, together with Toscannini, gave a legendary all-Liszt concert in November 1930.

Die…Suite für 2 Cl. v. Arensky von der ich sprach ist op. 15. (bei Gutheil-Moskau). Arensky hat noch andere sehr schöne Suite für 2 Cl. 'Silhouette' Opuszahl weiß ich nicht . Etwas anderes und gutes für 2 Cl. kann ich Ihnen eigentlich nicht empfehlen, aber Herr Ed. Grieg sagte mir, daß nächste Tage ein Stück von ihm bei Peters - Leipzig herauskommen wird. Was man im Voraus für sehr gut finden kann ::: PS. Die Suite op. 43 von Arensky ist nicht bedeutend ." - Auf Seite 4 eine Liste mit Musikstücken von anderer Hand. Gewicht (Gramm): 10.
