Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Good. 1st Edition. First edition. Association copy signed by Theodore C. Erickson, pioneering American neurosurgeon and founding chair of the Division of Neurosurgery at the University of Wisconsin. Good in original publisher's cloth with gilt spine lettering. Significant wear and fraying to spine ends and… outer hinges, with front hinge cracked and mesh exposed though text block remains holding. General rubbing and edge wear to boards. Interior remarkably clean overall with light scattered age toning and occasional minor handling wear. Foldout chart present and intact. Six colored plates, charts, and extensive surgical illustrations complete as called for. A solid and highly presentable copy despite binding wear. An important early twentieth-century neurosurgical text by Charles H. Frazier, one of the foundational figures in American neurological surgery and longtime surgeon at the University of Pennsylvania. The work covers operative procedures involving the spine and spinal cord, spinal trauma, tumors, meningitis, spina bifida, physiology of the spinal cord, and early neurological diagnostics. Richly illustrated throughout with surgical diagrams, foldouts, and striking color diagnostic plates documenting early laboratory and operative techniques. Particularly notable as an association copy belonging to Theodore C. Erickson, influential American neurosurgeon and founding chair of neurosurgery at the University of Wisconsin. Erickson trained within the early American neurosurgical tradition connected to figures such as Wilder Penfield and Charles Frazier, making this a professionally relevant and historically meaningful provenance. Association copies linking major early neurosurgeons to foundational texts of the specialty are increasingly difficult to locate. Carefully packed and shipped in a box. Shipped via USPS with tracking provided. International shipping available. Additional photographs available upon request. Please review photographs carefully, as they form part of the description. Returns accepted within the AbeBooks 30-day return window. SCI 1b.
