This historical volume unravels the complex reign and entangled political landscape of Asander, a prominent figure of the Bosporan Kingdom in the first century B.C.E. Drawing upon archaeological evidence, numismatic studies, and literary sources, the author sheds light on Asander's enigmatic rule. The narrative situates Asander's reign within the broader power dynamics of the region, exploring his relationship with Roman emperors and his rivalry with Mithradates VI of Pontus. Through a meticulous examination of Asander's coins, the book reconstructs his chronology and presents new insights into his reign's duration, administrative practices, and territorial extent. This study not only enhances our understanding of Asander's role in Bosporan history but also contributes to the broader field of Hellenistic and Roman studies. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
