Three shooting scenes, all featuring huntsmen, game, and working dogs; from the September, October and November issues of Vol. II of The Annals of Sporting and Fancy Gazette, a monthly periodical published 1822-28. Slight variations in image and sheet sizes (close to 105x185mm and 125x205mm respectively). Titles in lower margins, together with names of engraver & artist to left and publishers & dates to right. Recent uniform olive-green card mounts 200x260mm, loose thick plain card backings of the same size. Light offsetting from Annals text over blank versos of plates, very faintly visible over image sides; image sides also a little toned, the sections of margins not obscured by mounts variably so. Colours quite fresh. All three plates in GOOD condition.

(Graesse 548. Abbey 519). Views are: Fall of the River Machno. Pont y Pair. Conway Castle. Pulpit of Hugh Llwyd. Pont y Glynn & Bedgelert Church. A very good copy of an uncommon title.

Internally new endpapers, title page has a 7.5" closed tear, also 3 small worn holes or stab sown holes, edges a little chipped, 14 pp, 4 pl, errata pasted in, some browning and light foxing to a few fore-edges, paper watermarked J Whatman 1794, plates dated June 12, 1798, with 3 of the original tissue guards, the plates are Fall of the River Machno, Conway Castle, Pulpit of Hugh Llwyd and Pont y Glynn, plates are 42*30.5 cm and the leaves are 66*49 cm, the poems that runs throughout is "REFLECTION", with its own cloth covered slipcase with its copies title, a very good copy of a rare and fragile suite of engravings with added romantic topographical verse and much scarcer than the enlarged but much smaller paper edition of 1801.
