The star-crossed lovers, the Chevalier des Grieux and Manon, were played respectively by then-about-to-be-husband-and-wife John Barrymore and Dolores Costello, thereby earning this book the distinction of being dubbed the "Special Barrymore-Dolores Costello Edition," and being given the extra acoutrements of a color frontispiece and twelve (rather than the more typical eight or four) bound-in stills from the film.
